About FOUNDER

Whosoever Will Let Him Come Pentecostal Church was founded by Pastor Lawson B. Howard, Sr. and his wife, former First Lady Mother Barbara Howard. Pastor Howard was a devoted man of God, loving husband and father, and a humble servant who dedicated his life to spreading the Gospel of Jesus Christ throughout the Shelbyville community.Before the church was established, Pastor Howard often shared how God gave him visions and dreams concerning the ministry.

One of his favorite scriptures was Joel 2:28:“And afterward, I will pour out my Spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your old men will dream dreams, your young men will see visions.”Through faith, perseverance, and unwavering dedication, Pastor Howard was able to obtain and transform the building located at 219 E. Cedar Street into the church home of Whosoever Will, Let Him Come Pentecostal Church. The first worship service was held on Sunday, September 10, 1994, followed by the Church Dedication Service on May 28, 1995.Pastor and Mother Howard faithfully served alongside one another, leading countless souls to Christ and impacting many lives throughout the community.

Their ministry was built on love, prayer, holiness, and a heart for God’s people.Together, they raised four children — Denise, Arburdea, Lawson Jr., and Calvin — and were blessed with many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.Pastor Howard entered eternal rest on June 7, 2010, and Mother Howard followed on August 14, 2019. Though they are no longer with us physically, their legacy, vision, and spirit of faith continue to live on through the ministry of Whosoever Will, Let Him Come Pentecostal Church.

Today, the church continues to thrive as a place of worship, healing, and hope for the Shelbyville community. Above all, we give glory and honor to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for blessing us with the faithful leadership and lasting legacy of Pastor and Mother Howard
